    Job Description:

    Customer Support Representatives at REI Hub are the friendly and helpful first point of contact for questions via phone and email. You will assist customers with onboarding, product queries, troubleshooting issues, and basic bookkeeping questions. You will significantly impact the client experience with knowledgeable and kind customer service; many of our customers choose REI Hub specifically because we answer their questions promptly and with empathy.

    Successful candidates are strong communicators (verbal and written) and have solid quantitative reasoning. We will train you on everything you need to know about our software and landlord accounting and expect you to become comfortable assisting with both accounting and technology-based questions. Some bookkeeping experience and familiarity with accounting concepts are preferred. 

    You may occasionally be asked to contribute in other business areas, but our intention for this position is to be 90%+ customer support focused.

    This is a full-time (40 hours/week), in-office position. We are headquartered in the Startup Virginia building in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom.

    Position Responsibilities:

    -Answer inbound calls and emails from REI Hub customers

    -Assist customers with questions about the REI Hub platform and bookkeeping best practices

    -Build a high level of knowledge about REI Hub’s product and landlord accounting principles

    -Be the customer’s advocate - collect, collate, and share feedback internally; interface with the product team to improve solutions or reduce customer questions

    -Communicate with various company partners and vendors as needed to optimize the customer experience

    -Work with the Customer Support Manager to identify customer trends

    -Update or improve support practices, emails, and documentation as appropriate

    Basic Qualifications:

    -High school diploma or equivalent

    -1-3 years customer service experience supporting customers on the phone and via email

    -Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    -Empathetic team player with a customer success-focused attitude

    -Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software tools and applications

    -Comfort with accounting concepts and supporting individuals in their bookkeeping

    -Able to work in an open office environment

    -Reliable transportation to and from the office

    Preferred Qualifications:

    -Associates or Bachelors degree

    -Prior bookkeeping experience or accounting coursework

    -Interest or experience in real estate investing or property management

    -Customer support experience in the software industry

    -Compensation and Benefits:

    -Salary range: $48k-$60k annually, depending on experience

    The Bookkeeping Support Specialist is a member of the Customer Support team. Customer Support Representatives at REI Hub are the friendly and helpful first point of contact for questions via phone and email. You will assist customers with questions related to onboarding, product queries, bookkeeping, and troubleshooting issues. You will significantly impact the client experience with knowledgeable and kind customer service; many customers choose REI Hub specifically because we answer their questions promptly and with empathy.

    In addition to the above, the Bookkeeping Support Specialist has a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles and processes through hands-on experience and/or education. In addition to standard customer support duties, you will act as a resource to your REI Hub colleagues and as a point of escalation for more complex accounting questions and customer troubleshooting. Your relevant knowledge of core accounting and tax principles will guide customers toward best practices and empower the customer support team to provide our customers with a higher level of service.

    Successful candidates are strong communicators (verbal and written) and have solid quantitative reasoning. We will train you on everything you need to know about our software and the nuances of landlord accounting and expect you to become comfortable assisting with both accounting and technology-based questions. This position requires a combination of accounting education and bookkeeping experience.

    -Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software tools and applications

    -Ability to work in an open office environment

    -Reliable transportation to and from the office

    Preferred Qualifications:

    -2+ years of bookkeeping or staff accountant experience in a professional environment

    -Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline

    -1-3 years of customer-facing experience supporting customers on the phone and via email

    -Interest or experience in real estate investing or property management

    Compensation and Benefits:

    -Salary range: $55k-$70k annually, depending on experience
